Bank & Postal Office
In China, only RMB can be used. Unit of the RMB is “Yuan”(100cents), “jiao”(10 cents) and “fen”(1 cent), abbreviation is RMB. Chinese currency includes 13 types in total, which are 100 Yuan, 50 Yuan, 20 Yuan, 10 Yuan, 5 Yuan, 2 Yuan, 1 Yuan, 5 jiao, 2 jiaoo, 1 jiao, 5 fen, 2 fen and 1 fen. Coins are 1 Yuan, 5 jiao, 1 jiao, 5 fen, 2 fen and 1 fen.
Currency Exchange
GBP, HKD, USD, Euro, Japanese yen, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar and other foreign currency can be converted into RMB.
Seven foreign currency credit cards in the designated exchange offices can be used for exchange, they are:

The Bank of China in Beibei, can handle the RMB and foreign currency (including traveler's checks, etc.) exchange and deposit services. Be sure not to change money in the streets, so as not to suffer economic loss. When you change money you need to show passports or residence permits. For specific problem, you can consult to the bank.
On the campus there are the Bank of China, ICBC and Bank of Chongqing.
Around SWU there are the Bank of China, China Construction Bank, China Industrial and Commercial Bank, Agricultural Bank of China, China's commercial banks, which provide a variety of RMB and foreign currency deposits, withdrawals services. Opening new accounts needs valid passport.
In these banks, foreign currency can be deposited directly into a GBP, Hong Kong dollar, U.S. dollar, euro, Japanese yen, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar and the euro, a total of seven currencies.

There are two post offices on campus. The closer one to the International Students’ Dorm is the Southwest Commercial Street (Xi Shi Jie) post office, which can handle all kinds of postal services.
If you live in the international student’s dorm, for coming letters, you can receive them from the lobby reception.
For parcels, you will receive a parcel notice from the lobby reception. Please bring your ID (student ID card or passport) to a designated post office to pick up your parcels.
If it is remittance, please bring your ID (passport or student ID card) to the designated post office to receive remittance. Although this is a bit inconvenient, but it can ensure you receive important mails.
